Hallucinating face by position-patch
نویسندگان
چکیده
A novel face hallucination method is proposed in this paper for the reconstruction of a high-resolution face image from a low-resolution observation based on a set of highand low-resolution training image pairs. Different from most of the established methods based on probabilistic or manifold learning models, the proposed method hallucinates the high-resolution image patch using the same position image patches of each training image. The optimal weights of the training image position-patches are estimated and the hallucinated patches are reconstructed using the same weights. The final highresolution facial image is formed by integrating the hallucinated patches. The necessity of two-step framework or residue compensation and the differences between hallucination based on patch and global image are discussed. Experiments show that the proposed method without residue compensation generates higher-quality images and costs less computational time than some recent face image super-resolution (hallucination) techniques. & 2010 Elsevier Ltd. Hallucinating multiple occluded face images of different resolutions
Learning-based super-resolution has recently been proposed for enhancing human face images, known as ‘‘face hallucination’’. In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm to super-resolve face images given multiple partially occluded inputs at different lower resolutions. By integrating hierarchical patch-wise alignment and inter-frame constraints into a Bayesian framework, we can probabilistical...

A learning-based face hallucination method is proposed in this paper for the reconstruction of a high-resolution face image from a low-resolution observation based on a set of highand low-resolution training image pairs. The proposed global linear modal based super-resolution estimates the optimal weights of all the low-resolution training images and a high-resolution image is obtained by apply...
متن کاملA Two-Step Approach to Hallucinating Faces: Global Parametric Model and Local Nonparametric Model
In this paper, we study face hallucination or synthesizing a high-resolution face image from a low-resolution input, with the help of a large collection of other highresolution face images. We develop a two-step statistical modeling approach that integrates both a global parametric model and a local nonparametric model. First, we derive a global linear model to learn the relationship between th...
متن کامل3D Face Recognition using Patch Geodesic Derivative Pattern
In this paper, a novel Patch Geodesic Derivative Pattern (PGDP) describing the texture map of a face through its shape data is proposed. Geodesic adjusted textures are encoded into derivative patterns for similarity measurement between two 3D images with different pose and expression variations. An extensive experimental investigation is conducted using the publicly available Bosphorus and BU-3...
متن کاملFace Image Superresolution via Locality Preserving Projection and Sparse Coding
It is important to enhance the resolution of face images from video surveillance for recognization and other post processing. In this paper, a novel sparse representation based face image superresolution (SR) method is proposed to reconstruct a high resolution (HR) face image from a LR observation. First, it gets a HR-LR dictionary pair for certain input LR patch via position patch clustering a...
